Sourcefabric is currently looking for mobile web developers, experienced in mobile JavaScript frameworks and HTML5 / CSS3 implementation.
Ideally we are looking for people who have worked with Sencha, jQueryMobile and/or PhoneGap. You'll be implementing online publications using Newscoop, a content management system (CMS) that powers professional newspapers and magazines worldwide.
You will work on a range of international independent media projects (e.g. Nepali Times, TagesWoche, El Faro, Yemen Times, a range of projects in Georgia). Ideally you would be based in Prague, Berlin, Warsaw or Belgrade.
We offer you the opportunity to:
- Work on open source software. You will get exposure in the wider open source development world, your code will live on and can be reused by others, and you can show your work to others.
- Work on brand new themes for enterprise news publishing. We are building a set of templates working with Newscoop.
- Work on the development for one of the most exciting new publications coming out of Switzerland.
- Receive mentoring and guidance. You will be mentored by senior developers and implementers to help you grow your skills.
- Work with a friendly and enthusiastic team, we even like each other enough to eat lunch together on most days.
- Work in an environment that allows you to improve your skills and keep up with the latest development technology.
Here's what we're looking for from you:
- You have been working successfully on web implementation - with or without a degree in computer sciences.
- You speak fluent English. Fluency in German is an asset.
- You have been growing your skills continuously through your career.
- You like to create easy-to-use web interfaces and can think like a user.
- You are a team player and have a strong work ethic. You get along with others easily.
- You don't mind working with users on mailing lists to help them figure out their issues.
- You are excited about open source software and about changing the world.
- You are ready to travel to client sites
