Claudia Cruz
Latin America Representative
Claudia had her first crush with technology back in 1995 after a series of all-nighters at the University of Kansas computer lab. Once she received her first UNIX based e-mail while pursuing a journalism major she got hooked up with the Internet, chatting on IRC and making HTML web pages. Back in Guatemala, she became the online editor for the very first web edition of Prensa Libre, moving later to elPeriódico de Guatemala. She would say she’s a power-user of media-related software (notably our Newscoop) and an early adopter of cool gadgets, which makes her the perfect person to pen elPeriódico’s Hi-Tech section.
