Basel, New York, Harare and Guatemala - sadly not summer holiday destinations for the Sourcefabric team, but just some of the places we've been connecting with over the past month. In this edition of the newsletter we round-up the ON Festival, look ahead to Campsite 3.4 and explore some of the work we've being doing in South America...

1. ON Festival round-up
Sourcefabric would like to thanks our partners Open Broadcast and The Satisfactory, plus all our participants and guests, for making the ON Festival in Basel last month such a success. Over 50 experts and practitioners from across the radio spectrum, including WFMU, Resonance FM, reboot.fm, European Broadcasting Union, UNIKOM, PURE, Creative Commons and many more, came together for six days of discussion, presentation, radio broadcast and live events. Seen and heard by enthusiastic local audiences, the programme was also streamed to an international audience and broadcast on DAB+ in Switzerland.
Check out the photographs at Facebook, the live mindmaps and stay tuned for full video and text documentation. Listen again to Ken Freedman's special ON Festival show at WFMU.org.
2. Campsite 3.4
The latest version of Campsite, our content management system for news organisations, is nearly ready for release. Now featuring new backend search and supernavigation, user interface improvement (with new icons and a cleaner layout), plus a customizable URL interface, better image resizing and easier installation, Campsite is the perfect CMS for medium-to-large-size online news publications.
Campsite 3.4 will be available for download from Sourceforge on Thursday 08 July.

3. Floss Manuals Documentation Drive
Using the platform of our good friends Floss Manuals, this summer we will be whipping our software documentation into shape. Daniel James of 64 Studio will be improving the Campcaster radio software documentation while this autumn we're planning a Campsite booksprint to improve the existing manual and create a new Campsite Cookbook with real-life examples of ways to use the flexible platform.
If you want to get involved as a documenter or translator, email us at contact@sourcefabric.org. See the current manuals at:

4. ElPeriódico - Independent News in Guatemala
Guatemala newspaper ElPeriódico, users of Campsite since 2003, are featured in the latest of our video documentation series 'Find a way or make one.' Staff at the news organisation ran us through a day in the life of a Guatemalan journalist, highlighting the particular challenges they face and how Sourcefabric software provides the backbone of their operation.
